Woodrow William Mosier, ?Woody? as he was known to all, departed this life on December 19, 2006 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of 78 years, 10 months and 22 days. He was born at Stoney Point, Missouri on January 27, 1928, a son to the late Luther Mosier and Lola (Henderson) Mosier.
On August 1, 1946, he was united in marriage to Betty Tedder at Desloge, Missouri. They shared over sixty years of marriage together. Woody was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and finally, a great-great grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family. It was the most important thing. He also loved to travel and have fun. He was a member of the Irondale Masonic Lodge and a member of the Eastern Star.
In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda DeClue; two sisters, Norma Gorda and Barbara Herbert; a grandson, Robbie DeClue; a great granddaughter, Erica Ann DeClue; two sons-in-law, Hubert DeClue, Sr. and Michael Belfield .
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Betty Mosier; two sons, Roger Mosier and wife Donna of Mineral Point, Roger Mosier, Jr. of Mineral Point; three daughters, Susan Jarvis and husband Larry of Mineral Point, Patty Belfield of Irondale, Sheila Mosier of Mineral Point; brothers, Lester Mosier and wife Wilma of Mineral Point, James Mosier and wife Bonnie of Mineral Point; sisters, Ouita Glore, Mineral Point, Rosemary Hampton, Winfield; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; cousins; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Claude Evans and Rev. Keith Gorda. Serving as pallbearers were Shannon Jarvis, Brent Belfield, Joshua Mosier, Chad Fitzwater, Hubert DeClue, Kevin Fortner, honorary pallbearers, Mark Jarvis and Garland Fitzwater.
Interment and final prayers were held at Hopewell Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
