Winnie Lee McMahan was born on March 9th, 1930 in Mitchell, Missouri, a daughter of the late Ralph anD Henrietta (Forrester) Smith. Winnie went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 having reached 93 years of age. She was united in marriage to Robert Franklin McMahan on June 11th, 1948 and they were blessed to be together for 64 years until his passing on February 7th, 2013.
Winnie accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age and faithfully worked in the Springtown Church of God for many years, playing the piano and teaching the teenage Sunday school class. She worked at Brown Shoe Company in Potosi, the Pants Factory in Farmington and at the Glass Factory in Park Hills. She loved decorating her yard for the holidays and especially enjoyed working in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Winnie was preceded in death by her sons: Roger McMahan and Cecil Davis; four brothers: Harvey Smith, Ernest Smith, Edward Smith, and baby Lester Gene Smith; four sisters: Ruby Sago, Helen "Bert" Davis, Juanita Segewick and Esther June Dickinson.
Winnie passed away surrounded by the prayers and love of those who knew her. Those who remain to treasure her memory include her daughter, Donna Adams (husband, Clifford "Gene"); son, Robert McMahan Jr. (wife, Kathy); six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023 from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 2 pm held at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Missouri 63664. Pastor Dave Skaggs will be officiating. Interment and final prayers will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
