Wilma Dessie Irene Chandler of Parsons, Kansas departed this life on February 5, 2011 at her residence having reached the age of eighty nine years, seven months and three days. She was born on July 2, 1921 at Salem, Missouri a daughter to the late Richard Short and Minnie (Gibson) Short.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Chandler; daughter Marietta Chandler; three sons Richard William Chandler, Jesse Darrell Chandler, Jimmy Leon Chandler; grandson Rocky R. Duckworth and a great granddaughter Kelsey Ray.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are three daughters Leona Snavely and husband Dennis of Mound Valley, Kansas; Eileen Chandler of Mound Valley, Kansas; Lorraine Pugh and husband Don of Arlington, Texas; two sons Eddie Chandler and wife Ruth of Doe Run; Michael Chandler; brother Emmett Short and wife France of Mineral Point; twenty grandchildren; forty six great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Jerry Alcorn officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Leonard Nash, Michael Hoppe, Randy Hoppe, Rick Duckworth, Devin Duckworth, Ryan Duckworth, Billy Crane and Erik Ray.
Interment and final prayers were held at Boss Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
