Wilma Cantrell

July 7, 1939 — May 30, 2014

Wilma Ruth Cantrell of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on May 30, 2014 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy four years, ten months and twenty three days. She was born on July 7, 1939 in Potosi, Missouri a daughter to the late Charles Parmley and Susie (Lawson) Parmley.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by two brothers Donald Edward Parmley, Charles Melvin Parmley and grandparents James Parmley and Ada (McClain) Parmley, Joseph Lawson and Mary Jane (Vance) Lawson.
On July 23, 1960, Wilma was united in marriage to Raymond Cantrell and they shared fifty three years together.
Wilma graduated Potosi High School in 1957 and attended the Farmington Academy of Beauty College. Her first place of employment as beautician was at the Cut and Curl on East Main Street in Potosi.
Wilma enjoyed traveling, family history research, fishing, growing vegetables and attending her class reunions. Wilma was a breast cancer survivor. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior early in her life. She loved her family very much and lived a full live surrounded by them.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband Raymond Cantrell of Mineral Point; two daughters Donna Cantrell of Mineral Point, Patty King of Mineral Point; grandson Cory King of Mineral Point; great granddaughter Alexis Renee King of Cadet; brother Jerry Leo Parmley and wife Janet Faye of Mineral Point; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11 AM at DeClue Chapel with Rev. Bob Thurman officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Cory King, Matt Skaggs, Matt Parmley, Rob Lake, Heath Thurman and Josh Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers were Lane Asher, Terry Drennen, Tom Kennedy and Thomas Kennedy.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Cantrell Family Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
