William Wilson

May 2, 1937 — December 31, 2014

William Lemuel Wilson of Potosi, MO passed away on December 31, 2014 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy seven years, seven months, and twenty nine days. He was born on May 2, 1937 a son to the late William Lemuel Wilson, Sr. and Georgia Mae (Russell) Wilson.

On November 19, 1966, Lemuel was united in marriage to his beloved wife Brenda (Burbank) Wilson in Potosi, Missouri at the Potosi First Baptist Church. Together they shared forty eight years and four children were born unto this marriage. Lemuel retired from McDonnell Douglas in 1992 with thirty five years of service. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and overall loved the outdoors. In his younger days, Lemuel enjoyed bowling to which he had several 300 games. After retirement, he spent his days hunting and fishing as well as spending time at Boyer Lumber, Express Pawn and at Percy's Lube playing cards an solving the worlds problems.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Brenda Wilson of Potosi, Missouri; two sons: Mark Wilson and wife Dena of Potosi, Missouri and Scott Wilson and Nicole Wood of Terre Du Lac; one daughter Christa Wilson of Columbia, Missouri; one brother Jerry Wayne Wilson and wife Yaeko of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; one sister-in-law June Burbank of Potosi, Missouri; five grandchildren: Jesman Wilson, A. Tyler Sims, Kelsey Wilson, Markayla Wilson, and Hanna Wilson; one great-granddaughter Hadley Parks; five nephews: Keith Banta and wife Karla, Rick Foster and wife Karen, Alexander Wilson and wife Charlene, Michael Wilson and wife Jennifer, and Junior Coleman; five nieces: Trish Banta, Debbie Sewell, Nancy McMahan, Stephanie Bowen, and Lisa Coleman; eight great-nieces; four great nephews; and many more relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lemuel is preceded in death by one daughter Marsha Lynn Wilson; four sisters: Katherine Foster, Margaret McMahan, Madeline Banta, and Virginia Wilson; one nephew Randy McMahan; and one niece Nikki Ferguson.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jeff Richards officiating.

Honoring Lemuel by serving as his pallbearers were A. Tyler Sims, Keith Banta, Rick Foster, Alexander Wilson, Michael Wilson, Kevin Hopkins, and Jerry West.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
