William Warden

September 9, 1930 — November 7, 2005

Rev. Bill Warden of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on November 7, 2005 at his residence, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 1 day. He was born on September 6, 1930 at Potosi, Missouri, a son of the late William Joseph Warden and Mayme Pearl (Becker) Warden.

Pastor Bill was ordained in 1980 and served as the President of the Missouri Conference from 1987 to 1988.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Phipps on August 21, 1964 in Flat River, Missouri. They shared over 41 years of marriage together. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and, grandpa, dear brother, uncle, pastor and friend.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Camillo and Mildred Nettles.

Those who remain to mourn his passing of this life are his wife, Shirley Warden; his sons, Arthur Gough and wife Doris of Festus, Steven Gough and wife Bea of O?Fallon, Donald Gough and wife Shelly of O?Fallon; his daughters, Regena Zimmermann and her husband Jeffrey of Potosi and Tammy Glore and her husband Jeffrey of Potosi; his brothers, Paul Warden and wife Donna of Potosi, George Warden and wife Betty of Potosi, and Eugene Warden and wife Sharon of Irondale; a sister Ruth Crew of Jacksonville, FL; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; special friends, Mabel Dane and Rosalie Sutton; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Ed Watson and Rev. Gary Nash officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Eric Glore, Brennen Gough, Bryan Gough, Rob McClain, Jared Walton, Jeffrey Zimmermann, Floyd Dickinson, Lloyd Dickinson and Robbie Gough.

Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens in Potosi. All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
