William ?Bill? King of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 5, 2007 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of 75 years 1 month and 10 days. He was born at Potosi, Missouri on November 26, 1931.
Bill was united in marriage to Lena Marie Declue on August 11, 1951 at Pocahontas, Arkansas and four children were born to this union. Marie preceded him in death on January 27, 1999. He worked for Alvey Conveyor for thirty years before he retired; He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Pearl (Rundal) Fea and a daughter, Debra King.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his special friend, Emma Knighton of Potosi; sons, Mike King and wife Lisa of Potosi, John King of Potosi; daughter, Melinda Courtois and husband Ernest of Potosi; sister, Betty Gough of Cadet; sister in-law, Margaret Short and husband Larry of Doe Run; two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren and one great grandson; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM on Tuesday January 9, 2007 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Lynn Thebeau officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Bob Gough, Charles Gough, Jim Gough, Adam King, Tom Benoist and Keith Smith. Honorary pallbearers were David Benoist and Nathan Hinkle,
Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery with all arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
