Billy Joe Harbison of Park Hills, Missouri departed this life on March 4, 2007 at Parkland Health Center, Farmington, Missouri, having reached the age of 59 years, 8 months and 10 days. He was born on June 22, 1947 at Goodland, Missouri, a son of the late Jeff Harbison and Beulah Mae (Brooks) Harbison.
He was a loving father and grandfather; a dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Billy Joe served our Country in the United States Army from July, 1966 through July 1968 where he received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert (Rifle) Award and Marksman (Pistol) Award. He was particularly proud of his Bronze Star.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his significant other, Marlene Wilbanks of Park Hills; three sons, Brad Harbison and wife Kim of Fayetteville, NC, Derrick Harbison and wife Christine of St. Clair, Ryan Harbison and wife Denise of Steelville; a brother, Gary Harbison and wife Karen of Belgrade; two sisters, Darlene Barton of Boss, Myrna Harbison of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Kopp, Alex Kopp, Jeffrey Harbison, Marylynn Harbison, Garrett Harbison, Devon Harbison; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 1 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Mark Barton, Greg Barton, Stanley Barton, Alex Kobb, Jimmy Gains and Keith Harbison.
Interment and final prayers were held at Ottery Creek Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
