William Goodson

William Lewis Goodson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 8, 2007 at his residence, having reached the age of 67 years, 10 months and 23 days. He was born at Belgrade, Missouri on June 15, 1939, a son of the late Donald Goodson and Ruby Brewer Goodson.

Billy was a good husband and father. He loved his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his four wheeler with his son, grandson and friends. When anyone needed him he was always there. Most of all he loved the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Bowles; a son, Marty Goodson and two brothers, Davie Goodson and Vernon Goodson.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Rita Goodson of Potosi; a son, Dennis Goodson of Potosi; two sisters, Diane Cain and husband Randy of Cadet, Deborah Darlene Stringer and husband Chris of Hopewell; brother, Donnie Goodson and wife Donna of Valles Mines; four grandchildren, Dennis Lewis Goodson, II, Rachel Ann Emily, Lacey Bowles, Kaylee Bowles and one great-grandchild, Michealla Emily; a sister-in-law, Reba Goodson; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri, with Rev. Joe Gensler officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Goodson II, Jason Blair, Allen Emily, Micky Goodson Steve Kean and Nathan Goodson.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
