William ?Bill? Oscar Elliott of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on September 21, 2007 at St. John?s Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on January 27, 1928 at Potosi, Missouri, a son of the late Sanford William Elliott and Mabel Ada Tedder Elliott.
On September 13, 1947 he was united in marriage to Wilma Bailey in Arkansas. They shared just over sixty years of marriage together. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He was a dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
He was a long time Fireman and past Fire Chief of the Potosi Fire Department. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Elliott and Sanford Elliott, Jr.; three sisters, Annabelle Baker, Dorothy Nixon and Alice Lou Elliott.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Wilma Elliott of Potosi; three daughters, Marilyn Limbaugh and husband, Larry of Viburnam, Linda Charboneau and husband, Kenneth of Potosi, Phyllis Suiter and husband, Chalk of Richwoods; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 10 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Bud Tindall, Jeff Elliott, Mike Elliott, Randy Elliott, Dennis Finley and Jerry Finley.
Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
