William Campbell

William Cardell Campbell of Potosi, Missouri departed, this life on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of eighty-five years, one month and twenty-six days. He was born on January 3, 1923 at Caledonia, Missouri, a son of the late Della Campbell and Dona Walford Campbell.

He was united in marriage to Essie Bea Wren in St. Louis, Missouri and one son was born to that union. Mrs. Campbell preceded him in death on November 13, 2007.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his son Gerald Campbell and wife Mary of Potosi; a sister, Margie Oneal and husband, Acey of Arizona; a granddaughter, Jennifer Campbell of Potosi; a great granddaughter, Jillian Wren Campbell of Potosi; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM, Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Britton Chapel with Rev Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Larry Campbell, Charles Campbell, George Campbell, Tyler Campbell, Dalton Miller, Jeff Miller and James Campbell.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
