William Campbell

December 26, 1930 — July 3, 2015

William Arthur Campbell of Potosi, Missouri entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis having reached the age of eighty four years, six months and seven days. He was born on December 26, 1930 at Huzzah, Missouri, a son to the late William Robert Campbell and Myrtle Mae (Harper) Campbell.

On October 22, 1955 Art was united in marriage to Gladys Ilene Heifner and they shared fifty nine years together. Art was a member of the Unity Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge #131 and American Legion #265. Art served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. During his time of service, he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Art is survived by his loving and devoted wife Gladys Ilene Campbell of Potosi; two sons Patrick Campbell and wife Rene of Irondale; Archie Campbell of Potosi; two daughters Donna Harmon and husband Russell of Herculaneum; Susan Northcut and husband Michael of Fredericktown; two brothers Rev. Thomas Campbell and wife Mildred of Leasburg, Mo.; Albert Campbell and significant other Rita Beck of Irondale; three sisters Gladys Carter and husband Lindell of Potosi; Hazel Smith and husband Richard of Potosi; Loretta Russell of Potosi; six grandchildren Jennifer Manning and husband Fred; Craig Campbell; Joseph Hill; Samantha Harmon; Jamie Essary and husband Jason; Jared Campbell; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Ann Campbell; son Larry Alan Campbell; brother Rev. Robert Campbell; sister Shirley Hardin; two brothers-in-law Doc Russell and Clyde Hardin and sister-in-law Aurelia Campbell.

Visitation for Art was held on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4:30 until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A funeral was conducted at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Polk officiating assisted by Pastor Guy Conway. Honoring Art by serving as pallbearers were Joe Hill, Craig Campbell, Jared Campbell, Fred Manning, Danny Best, Jesse Folk and Jason Essary.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Hopewell Cemetery with full military honors presented by the United States Air Force and Local VFW Post 6996.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
