Wayne Wilkinson

Wayne Azel Wilkinson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on December 8, 2007 at his residence, having reached the age of fifty-two years, ten months and one day. He was born on February 7, 1955 at Springtown, Missouri, a son of the late Adolph Alex Wilkinson and Betty Jean Hart Wilkinson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his first wife, Marlene Rea Wilkinson; two daughters, Amy Wilkinson and Felicia Wilkinson; two brothers, Jesse Wilkinson and Nolan Wilkinson; and a sister, Betty Wilkinson.

On May 21, 1983, he married Laverne Ney and two children were born to this union. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, a dear brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles with his friends and family. He was a wonderful and giving man who would help anyone who needed him. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife Laverne Wilkinson of Potosi; two sons, Jesse Wilkinson and fianc? Nicole of Dupo, IL, Logan Wilkinson of Potosi; step-mother, Dorothy Wilkinson of Potosi; a brother, Norman Wilkinson and wife Shelbie of Potosi; a sister, Marti Soler of Wildwood; a half-brother, Alex Wilkinson of Potosi, two half-sisters, Christal Wilkinson of Potosi, Marcia Murphy and husband Jeremiah of Potosi; a step sister, Paula Williams and husband Charlie of Mineral Point; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Bryce Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chuck Vance, Lloyd Danback, Danny Immekus, Donnie Wilkinson, Robert Politte, T.C. Harl and Rick King.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
