Wanda Martin

Wanda Faye Martin, also known by her family and friends as “Faye” of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on March 15, 1944 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, a daughter to the late Charles William Powell and the late Vina Mae (Freeman) Powell. Faye went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family, having reached the age of seventy-six years, nine months and twenty-four days.

On August 22, 1998 Faye was united in marriage to Robert Lee Martin and they shared sixteen years together.

Faye is survived by her three children: Woodrow Lawson Jr. and wife Tammy, Timothy Connour, and LeighAnn Skiles and husband Charles; five grandchildren: Brandi DeClue and husband Michael, Michelle Rifenburg and husband Matthew, Zachary Lawson and wife Lora, Lindsey Skiles and Fiancé Zachary Dickinson, Emma Skiles and significant other Dalton Courtney; six great-grandchildren: Bayleigh Hayes, Brayden DeClue, Braxton Lawson, Annabelle Dickinson, Ella Rifenburg and Lane DeClue; sister, Margeritte Ann (Powell) McClure Fulmer Serio.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vina Mae Powell; beloved husband, Robert Lee Martin on March 24, 2015; siblings: Billye Mae (Powell) Wren, Mattie Gwendlyn (Powell) Johnston, James Donald Powell, Evelyn (Powell) Wigley and Charles William Powell, Jr.

Faye was a member of Mineral Point Methodist Church. She was a CNA for many years doing private duty as well as working at NHC, Mineral Area Regional Medical Center and in later years volunteering at Washington County Memorial Hospital. In her spare time, she loved playing cards, crocheting, spending time with her beloved family. She was always the life of the party, always had a smile on her face, but was not afraid to tell it like it was. She was a perfect mixture of sweet and sassy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 5 pm to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E. High St, Potosi, MO. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11 am at DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Guy Conway officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery in Mineral Point, Missouri.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
