Virgie Kaba

Virgie Marie Kaba of Potosi, Missouri, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 4, 2016 at St. Joe Manor, Bonne Terre, MO., having reached the age of eighty five. She was born on July 10, 1930 in Shirley, MO., a daughter to the late William Matchell and the late Hazel (Dicus) Matchell. Virgie was married to Steve Kaba Jr. for thirty nine years.

Virgie is survived by three daughters: Sister Annette Marie Kaba, OSF, of Belleville, Illinois, Ruth Ann Daumen of Potosi, Missouri, and Doris Marie Grant and husband David of St. Louis, Missouri; one son, Steve John Kaba III and wife April of Gravette, Arkansas; one sister, Alma Montgomery of California; brother-in-law, Robert Richardson of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Christopher (Krysta) Lohmeyer, Michael (Sarah) Lohmeyer, Joseph Kaba, Steve Kaba IV, Robyn Kaba and Fiancé Tony Berry, Sara (Dustin) Livingston, Sumer and Cody McCall; six great grandchildren: Kristen Branson, David Newcomber Jr., Elizabeth Lohmeyer, Dade and Ember Livingston, Chloe Lohmeyer; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, beloved family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by one sister, Stella Richardson, brother-in-law Marian Montgomery, son-in-law Mike Daumen, great granddaughter Amanda Branson and a niece Gladys Fortner.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, from 4:30 until 8:00 PM and Thursday, from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday, July 7, at 10:00 AM held at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Rodger Fleming officiating.

Memorials can be made in memory of Virgie to the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 335 South Kirkwood Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63122 or Kindred at Home Hospice, 4783 Flat River Road, Farmington, Missouri 63640.

Interment and Final prayers will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
