Violet Wade

Violet Lillian Wade of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on December 31, 1929, a daughter to the late Nolan Edward Fann and the late Edna (Wilkinson) Fann. On January 3, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, Violet was united in marriage to Philip Chatman Wade and they spent sixty-eight years together.

Violet went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2017 having reached the age of eighty-seven years, one month, and twenty-four days.

Violet is survived by her sons: Pastor Jim Wade and wife Diane of Hopewell, and Pastor Rick Wade and wife Betty of Desloge; sisters: Eileen Wade, Elvira Hinkle and husband Don, Gale Breakfield, and Elmita Gensler and husband Billy Joe – all of Hopewell; ten grandchildren: Amanda Wade, Jimmy Wade and wife Karen, Jennifer Sampson and husband Brad, Eric Wade II, Andria Wade, Brandon Thomlinson and wife Ashley, Brandi Perkins and husband Luke, Philip Mark Wade, Jr. and wife Carrie, Kacy Gleeson and husband Billy, and Megan Wade; and sister-in-law Arlene Fann of Hopewell.

In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rev. Philip Wade; son Mark Wade and one brother Robert Fann.

Visitation for Violet was held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM.

A Homegoing Service was held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at the Hopewell Church of God with Violet’s sons Pastors Jim and Rick Wade officiating.

Honoring Violet by serving as pallbearers were Eric Wade II, Jimmy Wade, PJ Wade, Sheldon Marler, DJ Portell and Matt Woods. Honorary pallbearer – Aiden Grindstaff.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Hopewell Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were respectfully cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
