Violet Eye

April 2, 1933 — May 15, 2008

Violet Maybell Eye of Potosi, Missouri departed this life May 15, 2008, having reached the age of seventy five years, one month and thirteen days. She was born on April 2, 1933 in Potosi, Missouri, a daughter of the late George Thomas Boyer and Minnie Maude Forrester Boyer.

On January 18, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donald V. Eye by their brother in-law, Rev. Melvin Reed. Donald preceded her in death on March 12, 2006. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Lee Boyer and Dorothy Ann Boyer; and a son-in-law, Mike Fish.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her children, Charlotte Fish of Cedar Hill, Vanessa Draffen and husband, John of Versailles, Deborah Akins and husband, Randall of Mineral Point, Donald Eye, II and wife, Bonnie of Potosi; four grandchildren, Tracy Boren and husband, Jeff of Fenton, Michelle Courtois and husband, Scott of Potosi, Toria Summers and husband, Jeremy of Potosi, Don Michael Eye and wife, April of Potosi; eight great grandchildren, Megan Belfield, Brady Boren, Sydney Boren, Kaleb Courtois, Devan DeClue, Cassidy DeClue, Karson Summers and Miley Courtois; sisters, Betty Moore and husband Bob of Pueblo Colorado, Carol Wisehart of Belgrade, Linda Shelton of Iowa, Bridget Madden and husband Will of Ironton; brothers, Tommy Boyer of New Mexico, Michael Boyer and wife Joyce of Steelville, Billy Boyer and wife Mary of East End; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 PM on Monday, May 19, 2008 at the White Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Reed and Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Donnie Eye, Kelly Eye, Mikey Eye, Billy Boyer, Scott Courtois and Jeff Boren.

Interment and final prayers were held at the White Oak Grove Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
