Violet Blair of Bonne Terre, Missouri formerly of Potosi departed this life September 14, 2010 at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center having reached the age of ninety years, two months and twenty five days. She was born on June 20, 1920 at Courtois, Missouri a daughter to the late John Gilliam and Ida Mae (Coffman) Gilliam.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her husband Lonie Blair; daughter in law Laury Blair; son in law Smoke Daugherty; grandson Blaine Daugherty; granddaughter Cathy Akers; two sisters Beaulah Williams, Hallie Wilson; three brothers Walter Gilliam, Alvie Gilliam and Jim Gilliam.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are two sons Donald Blair and wife Thelma of Potosi; Dennis Blair of Potosi; three daughters Sharon Meyers and husband Jack of Leadwood, Linda Daugherty of Park Hills, Anita Evans of Painesville, Ohio; sister Mary Blair of Potosi; grandchildren Brent, Corey, Lon Paul, Mandy, Andy, Vicky, Cathy, Andrea, Katie, Adam; sixteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Douglas Clinton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Nettles, Lon Blair, Andy Blair, Scott Dennis, Brent Myers and Cory Daugherty.
Interment and final prayers were held at Lost Creek Cremetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
