Violet Anderson

May 7, 1928 — August 15, 2017

Violet Anderson of Potosi, Missouri was born on May 7, 1928 in Herculaneum, Missouri, a daughter to the late George C. Baxter and the late Bessie (Mills) Baxter. On May 12, 1946, Violet was united in marriage to Alvin M. Anderson in St. Louis and they shared nearly thirty-eight years together.

Violet went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her residence having reached the age of eighty-nine years, two months and twenty-nine days.

Violet served alongside her husband, Rev. A.M. Anderson, who was an ordained minister, pastoring several churches in Kansas, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri for over thirty years.

Violet will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her seven children: Garry Anderson and wife Pat of Jacksonville, North Carolina; Sharon Mason of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas; Gail Dicus and husband Dave of Potosi, Missouri; Tim Anderson and wife Joy of Rock Hill, South Carolina; Kimberly McIntosh and husband Tim of Coffeeville, Kansas; Jill Busby and husband Albert of Bakersfield, Missouri; Beth Manning and husband Jonathan of Pittsboro, North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren: Amie Buffkin and husband Scott; Brian Anderson, Christy Mason, Paul Mason, Jr.; Scott Dicus and wife Tammy; Erica Drinkwine and husband Jed; Tara Eidsness; Tim Anderson and wife Heather; Jason McIntosh and wife Nicole; Josh McIntosh and wife Megan; Melissa Daniels; Chris Pruitt and wife Megan; Laura Eubanks and husband Adam; Jarrett Manning; twenty-eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her father and mother, Violet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. A.M. Anderson; two sisters: Juanita Bruhn and Christine Randen; brother, George E. Baxter; daughter-in-law, Ruth Anderson and son-in-law Paul Mason.

The family received friends at the DeClue Funeral Home on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 4:30-8 p.m. and on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. held form the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alton Thompson will officiating assisted by Rev. Matt Woods.

Interment and final prayers was held in the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the services for Violet during this time of remembrance.
