Vernon Ledbetter

Vernon Gene Ledbetter of Paducah, Kentucky departed this life on September 11, 2014 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of eighty one years, nine months, and nine days. He was born on December 2, 1932 in Ledbetter, Kentucky a son to the late Ben Ledbetter and Nora (Meredith) Ledbetter.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by a son Vernon Gene Ledbetter, Jr. and a sister Wanda McNeely.
On March 11, 2006 Vernon was united in marriage to Norma Lee (Hickman) Ledbetter in Smithland, Kentucky and they shared eight years together.
Vernon is survived by his wife Norma Ledbetter of Leasburg, Missouri; one son Ronald Ledbetter of Aurora, Kentucky; three step-sons Bobby Miller of Park Hills, Missouri, Sean Hickman of Union, Missouri, and Jace Hickman and wife Jennifer of Leasburg, Missouri; one daughter Betty Buchanan of Smithland, Kentucky; two step-daughters Cheryl Howell of Potosi, Missouri, and Deborah Wilson of Potosi, Missouri; one brother Ewing Ledbetter and wife Alice of Smithland, Kentucky; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and many more relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Family Memorial Chapel in Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Lynda Harris officiating.
Funeral arrangements were respectably entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
