Vernie Bedford

Vernie Dwight Bedford Jr of Courtois, Missouri, passed away Saturday December 16, 2023 in Bunker, Missouri, reaching the age of 66 years, 5 months, and 2 days. He was born July 14, 1957 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, a son to the late Vernie Bedford Sr. and Juanita (Robbins) Bedford.

On May 18, 1976, Vernie was united into marriage to Anita Nash Bedford who preceded him in death. Vernie loved his auctions, his store, spending time with his family and friends, and caring for his animals.

Vernie was preceded in death by his wife Anita; both parents; brother, Dennis Bedford; infant daughter, Illene Sue; and five grandbabies.

Vernie will be missed by his children: Leroy Nash, Angie Baum (husband, Danny), Sam Bedford, Brandy Bedford, Andrea Miner (husband, Shawn), Tiffany DeClue (husband, Nathan); grandchildren: Kendra, Zach, Stormie, Jamie, Courtney, Jenny, Alexander, Ashlyn, Abby, Katie, Jessie, Kara, Mikey, Braxton, and Hunter; six great grandchildren: Cavin, Kade, Layla, Emmy, Lucy, Colt, and Jordan; eight siblings: Joe Bedford (wife, Lisa), Lisa Glenny, Tina Young, Rose Quillen (husband, Dennie), Peter Bedford, Donald Bedford, Maryanne Pollat, and Nancy Bell. Vernie is also survived by many other dear relatives and friends.

Vernie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Friday, December 22, 2023 from 11 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Service at 1 p.m., held at DeClue Funeral Home. Shawn Miner will officiate Vernie's service. Military honors will also be presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996.
