Verna Belfield

Verna Christine Belfield of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on November 8, 1928 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, a daughter to the late Frank Kirby and the late Gracie (Jarvis) Kirby. Verna entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at her residence having reached the age of eighty eight years and four days.

On July 7, 1946, Verna was united in marriage to James Alvin Belfield and they shared sixty four years together.

Verna is survived by her two children Michael Belfield and wife Jonny of Farmington and Devan Belfield of Mineral Point; granddaughter, Amanda Belfield of Mineral Point; brother, Jim Kirby Sr. of Cadet; sister, Gladys Lancaster of Savannah, Tennessee; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. In addition to her father and mother, Verna was preceded in death by two infant siblings and her sister, Mary Waller and brother, Jerry Kirby.

Visitation for Ms. Belfield will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664. Visitation will resume on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements for Ms. Belfield during this time of remembrance.
