Veldon Brand

Veldon "Buck" Brand of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on February 21, 2013 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of eighty years, four months and twelve days. He was born on October 9, 1932 in Stoney Point, Missouri a son to the late Alfred Brand and Verda (Jarvis) Brand.

Buck was a deacon at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for fifty years and a member of the Potosi Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star for fifty years.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are a son Denny Brand and wife Diana of Potosi; two daughters Kathy Richards and husband Jeff of Potosi; Krista Snyder and husband David of Potosi; three sisters Midge Johnson of Potosi; Dorothy Jennings of Kansas City; Treva Lovvorn and husband Larry of Springfield; six grandchildren Lee Brand and wife Amy of Potosi; Doug Brand and wife Beth of Potosi; J.D. Richards and wife Belinda of Potosi; Erin Rayfield and husband Dea of Ellington; Courtney Snyder of Potosi; Jacob Snyder of Potosi; eleven great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Brand and a son Donnie Brand.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Larry Lovvorn officiating, Rev. Mike Jarvis and Elder Leonard Compton assisting. Serving as pallbearers were David Lovvorn, Dean Johnson, Bill Johnson, Lee Brand, Doug Brand, J.D. Richards Dea Rayfield and Jacob Snyder.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Masonic Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
