Una Mae Beckham of Potosi, Missouri passed away on March 14, 2010 at the Farmington Presbyterian Manor at the age of 86. She was born on May 22, 1923 in Briar, Missouri as the 4th of 7 daughters born to George and Martha Hunt. She was united in marriage to Thomas H. Beckham on May 17, 1941 in Pocahontas, AR and was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years (March 20, 1991); by one grandson, Aric Beckham of Dallas, TX on April 2, 2009; and by her brother-in-law, Darl L. Beckham of Socorro, NM on December 13, 2009.
She lived for 26 years in Shipman, IL where she and Thomas H. operated Shipman Lumber Company. They moved to Potosi, MO in 1980 where they opened and operated Potosi Lumber Company until his death in 1991. She was a member of Potosi Southern Baptist Church where she enjoyed providing flowers and plants for various occasions and seasons. She enjoyed collecting quilts and antique glassware over her lifetime.
Surviving are two sons; Thomas M. Beckham and his wife Sharon of Potosi, MO and Kenneth A. Beckham and his wife Dawn of Carson City, NV; three grandchildren; Kristie Gray and husband Brad of Potosi, MO., Kathryn Neff and husband Brad of Leadington, MO, and Brad Beckham and wife Kirsten of Ozark, MO; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters Joy Rush of Puxico, MO and Gerry Sanfiippo of St. Charles, MO.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Potosi Southern Baptist Church with John Canterberry officiating. Music was provited by Beverly McColloch, Bob Sifford and Dawn Beckham.
Interment was at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Briar, MO. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of DeClue Funeral Home of Potosi.
Serving as pallbearers: Brad Beckham, Brad Gray, Brad Neff, Bill Kennon, David Lambeth and John Lambeth.
