Travis Eye

Travis Alonzo Eye of Potosi, Missouri was born on February 4, 1938 in Shirley, Missouri, a son to the late Troy “Tine” Eye and the late Geneva (Streckfuss) Eye. Travis went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his home having reached eighty-one years, seven months and fourteen days of age.

In addition to his parents, Travis was preceded in death by two daughters: Kathy Rachel Rolens and Anna Marie Eye; five grandchildren: Clay Simpson, Seth Elijah Yount, Joanna Simpson, Nicholas Eye, and Brandon Bourbon; son-in-law, Tim Yount; and his brother, Marvin Eye.

Travis is survived by his beloved wife, Rachel (nee: Coleman) Eye; eight children: Victoria “Vicki” Yount, Donna (Clay) Simpson, Randy Travis Eye, Jody Wayne Eye, Melinda (Eddie) Cooper, Janet (Roger) Bourbon, Mark Eye and David Eye; two brothers: Dennis Eye and Johnnie (Merlee) Eye; two sisters: Bonnie (Lawrence) Dicus and Margie (Emil) Hirsch; twenty-six grandchildren: Beth Morgan, Brook Boyer, Adam (Beth) Yount, Noah (Shanna) Yount, Carah (Van) Watson, Travis (Melissa) Simpson, Ian (Jessica) Simpson, Megan (Devin) Brown, Chris Eye, Breann Eye, Amber Sisco, Carissa Bone, Logan Eye, Wyatt Eye, Josh (Megan) Cooper, Joseph Cooper, Kody Bourbon, Britney (Nick) Niggeman, Chelston Eye, Katie Eye, Zach Eye, Grace Eye, Annie Hatfield-Fleming, Carrigan Eye, Coleman Eye and Jestin (Sydney) Cooper; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; also surviving are many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at DeClue Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Travis will begin at 2:00 PM, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Interment and final prayers will be held at Eye Cemetery.
