Thomas Larry Thompson, whom many knew as Larry, of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on October 19, 2010 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached the age of sixty seven years, one month and fifteen days. He was born on September 4, 1943 at Potosi, Missouri a son to the late Oren Thompson and Blanche (Schrum) Thompson.
On June 19, 1965, Larry was united in marriage to Glenda Eaves and they shared forty five years together. There were three son’s were born to this union. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Larry was a great provider for his family and loved his wife and son’s very much.
Larry was an avid hunter. He enjoyed being outdoors surrounded by nature. His father taught him to fish at a young age and as they grew old they often would fish together. Larry also instilled hunting and fishing into his son’s lives at a young age and today they still have a passion for hunting and fishing.
Larry attended the Glory Hill Assembly of God Church in Potosi, Mo. He knew Christ as his personal savior. He was a man filled with faith and honesty.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother Junior Thompson and three sisters in law Alice Thompson, Lavern Thompson and Jesse Thompson.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Glenda Thompson of Cadet; three sons Tom Thompson and wife Roberta of Oklahoma; Bryan Thompson and special friend Debbie of Cadet; Michael Thompson and wife Roxanna of Sullivan; three brothers James Thompson and wife Diane of Cadet; Leo Thompson of Mineral Point; Terry Thompson and wife Sharon of Cadet; sister-in-law Mary of Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Lee Thompson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Wayne Thompson, Terry Thompson, Jr. Timmy Thompson, Bradley Thompson, Cody Thompson, and Stephen Thompson.
Interment and final prayers were held at the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
