Theresa Johnson-Goodson

Theresa Carol Johnson-Goodson of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on January 11, 2014 at her residence having reached the age of fifty years, eight months and twenty five days. She was born on April 17, 1963 in Mineral Point, Missouri a daughter to the late Kelly E. Goodson and Jesse Ellen (Skiles) Goodson.
Theresa was known for her great compassion for both mankind and animals. Nothing could put a smile on her face quicker than her two little dogs, Shelby and Buddy.
She spent many years protecting and serving as a police women in Park Hills, Missouri. She also was a correctional officer at Algoa Correctional Center in Jefferson City, Missouri, as well as at Farmington Correctional Center in Farmington, Missouri. Prior to her service time while in the Law Enforcement Academy at Mineral Area College she ranked the highest in her class for her sharp shooting abilities.
In her past time she was an avid outdoors women. She spent countless hours outdoors planting seeds and enjoyed watching them grow into beautiful flowers. Along with her love of gardening she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family especially her dad.
She always loved the sound of a good tuned guitar, and listening to her family play music as she sang along.
Being with family was a priority in Theresa's life. She loved that she could "round up" her nieces and nephews to join her and her boys for a weekend. Her sisters were her best friends and could count on them for anything at any time.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by a brother Rodney Goodson; special friend Kevin Ketcherside; grandparents, many aunts uncles and cousins.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her three sons Justin Johnson of Sullivan, Kelly Joel Johnson and wife Krystal of Hillsboro, Branden Keith Johnson of Farmington; Father of her children Wendell Johnson of Farmington; four sisters Shelia Wood of Belgrade, Kelly Ann Adams and fiancé Dale Morgan of Caledonia, Jennifer Dunn and husband Charles of St. Louis, Morgan Dunn and fiancé Don Gamble of Farmington; nine grandchildren; four nieces; two nephews; a host of great nieces and great nephews; other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with her son Justin Johnson speaking. Serving as pallbearers were Kaiton Tarvid, Joshua Henson, Justin Johnson, Kelly Joel Johnson, Jessica Rodgers, Laura Tarvid, Kailey Hawkins, Jodi Boyer, Brandon Johnson and Michael Rodgers.
Interment and final prayers were held at the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
