Thelma Knapp

March 6, 1930 — December 5, 2021

Mrs. Thelma Maxine Knapp of Potosi, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2021 having reached the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 29 days. Thelma was born on March 6, 1930, a daughter of the late Howard and Lila (Range) Boyster.

On September 19, 1948 Thelma was united in marriage to Edward Knapp and they were blessed to share 65 years of life and love together. Two children were born to this union.

Thelma worked at Hamilton Shoe Factory until her retirement. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with all her heart as well as His word and enjoyed every opportunity that she was given to share the gospel and preach God’s word. She was ordained in the Church of God many years ago as a minister. Through the years, Thelma was a faithful leader, overseeing many women's groups and young ladies ministries. She coordinated and lead several vacation Bible school programs. Thelma found great joy in seeing children so happy about Jesus.Thelma was a member of The River Christian Centre of Potosi.

Thelma loved to travel with her husband, family and friends. She was an avid gardener and a talented painter. Her artistry ability will be forever cherished by her children and grandchildren for years to come. Thelma’s blessings of love, strength and faith will be treasured for generations.

Those who remain to celebrate her life include her two children: Stanley Knapp (wife, Doris), LaDonna Fitzgerald (husband, Pat); five grandchildren: Jason Fitzgerald, Stephanie Coleman (husband, Rodney), Jarrod Knapp (wife, Jamie), Joshua Fitzgerald, Eric Knapp (wife, Darby); twelve great grandchildren: Allie, Alexis, Garrett, Ethan, Riley, Emilee, Emily, Wyatt, Ellie, Owen, Aiden, and Corbin; severn great-great grandchildren: Ameris, Athena, Lincoln, Gentry, Colt, Faithlynn, and Sadie; brother, Mike Boyster and sister, Darlene DeClue. Thelma also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, church family and dear friends.

In addition to her father and mother, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Knapp; and seven siblings: Willard Boyster, Marie Nettles, Juanita Horton, Pat Boyster, Ruby Boyster, Don Boyster, and Virgil Boyster.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 3 to 8 PM at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 9 to 11 AM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11 AM held at the DeClue Chapel. Pastor Bobbie Brown will officiate her services.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi.
