Sylvia Missey

Sylvia Irene Missey of Berryman, Missouri departed this life on November 2, 2009 at her residence having reached the age of eighty seven years, seven months and fifteen days. She was born on March 18, 1922 at Berryman, Missouri a daughter to the late James Wright and Laura (Bridgeman) Wright.

On June 15, 1939, Sylvia was united in marriage to Joseph Thomas Missey and ten children were born to this union.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Thomas Missey; two brothers Frank Wright, Charles Wright; three sisters Mary Wright, Margie Wright, Virginia Timmerman; daughter in law Donna (Wisdom) Missey; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are three sons Charles E. Missey and wife Leona of Berryman; Bill Missey and wife Linda of Berryman; Frank Missey of Steelville; seven daughters Virginia Moses and husband Lester of Huzzah; Viola Moses and husband Bill of Berryman; Eula Ennia and husband Tex of Overland; Lily Jarvis and husband Mac of Potosi; Judy Gray and husband Rainey of Huzzah; Mary Mercer of Mineral Point; Diana Reynolds of Berryman; three sisters in law Frida Wright of Potosi, Florence Hamper of Park Hills, Susan Missey of Desoto; special friend Rose Hagermann; twenty nine grandchildren; fifty three great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2 PM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Perry Lewis officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Tim Brewer, Mac Jarvis, Jr., Joe Gray, Ronnie Moses, Rusty Missey and Leroy Missey, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were J.C. Brewer, Josh Jarvis, Zack Brewer, Dacota Hagermann , Malachi Gray and J.W. Moses.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Lost Creek Cemetery, Potosi. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
