Steve Devine

October 22, 1950 — January 2, 2018

Jon Steven Devine, known as “Steve,” of Cadet, was born on October 22, 1950 in Farmington, Missouri, a son to the late Alvin Ratley and the late Mary Josephine Devine. On April 11, 2015, Steve was united in marriage to Melody Gayloa.

Steve entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his residence having reached sixty-seven years of age.

Steve will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his beloved wife, Melody Devine of Cadet; four children: Patty Delashmit of Bismarck, Jason Devine, Aaron Devine, and Pricilla Devine – all of Cadet; six grandchildren: Clista, Clinton, Dakota, Christian, Chenoah, and Nolan; five grandchildren: Konner, Kollin, Kolten, Copper, and Levi; also surviving are many cousins and dear friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Mary Jo and Carl Holtz; daughter, Terri Ozee; sister, Bobby Devine; and grandmother, Grace Devine.

Visitation for Steve was held on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Saturday, January 6, 2018, beginning at 9:00 AM.

A funeral service began at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2018, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Rick Thomure officiating assisted by Pastor Keith Curtis.

Honoring Steve by serving as his pallbearers were Christian Devine, Harold Lindsey, Dean Adams, Glen Wise, Rodney Leathers, Bobby Bryant, Larry Marler, and Gary Sleder.

Interment and final prayers were at the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Potosi. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
