Shirley Marguerite Fryman of Potosi, Missouri, was born on April 2, 1936 in Potosi, a daughter of the late Reginald Cordell and Beaulah Marguerite (Eye) Trask. On March 20, 1955 Shirley was united in holy matrimony to Golden “Pug” Fryman at White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. To this union, two children were born, Randy and Lisa Jo. Shirley and Pug shared 68 years of life and love together. Shirley went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the age of 87.
Shirley was a graduate of Potosi High School, Class of 1954. Following graduation, Shirley went to work for Potosi R-3 School District as secretary and bookkeeper until retiring in 1995 with 41 years of service. Shirley was a past member of Potosi Lioness Club and the Charity Ladies Club. Shirley was a longtime member of White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was baptized in 1947 at Forshana Creek located off old highway 8 in Shirley, Missouri near the old iron bridge. Shirley and Pug built a wonderful life together, filled with love and hard work. Shirley found her greatest joy in all of her grandchildren and family. She was a great cook and was always cleaning and organizing.
Those who remain to treasure Shirley’s memory include her beloved husband, Golden “Pug” Fryman; two children: Randy Fryman and Lisa Jo (husband, Mike); four grandchildren: Gary Fryman (wife, Angie), Kyle Fryman (wife, Jamie), Sarah Schnieders (husband, Kevin), and Austin Heflin and Fiancé, Megan Armstrong; nine great grandchildren: Olivia (Mike) Riley, Brittany (Darren) Thomas, Timothy Ames, Klaire, Brooklynne, Everett Fryman, and Brody, Maverick, Remington Schnieders; and two great-great grandchildren: Liam and Macie Thomas. Shirley also leaves behind extended family and dear friends.
In addition to her father and mother, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving daughter-in-law, Glennes Fryman; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Everett and Stella Fryman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 4:30 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at White Oak Grove Baptist Church from 11 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 1 pm. Pastor Scott Welty will be officiating her service. Interment will follow at White Oak Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
