Sarah Melton

Sarah Genevieve Melton of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on February 19, 2014 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of ninety five years, five months and eleven days. She was born on September 8, 1918 in Pocahontas, Arkansas a daughter to the late Otis Spencer and Orene (Mitchell) Spencer.
In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Bill Melton, son Tom Jacobs, two grandsons Scott Alphin, Rusty Williams, three sons in law William Alphin, Russell Williams, Ed Cook, two brothers Thomas Spencer and Cletus Spencer.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are five daughters Tommie Jean Mann and husband Robert of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Billie Faye Reed and husband Tom of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Phyllis Cook of Pacific, Phyllis Wilkerson and husband Alan of Potosi, Grace Williams of Potosi; one son David Bettis and wife Janet of Potosi; daughter in law Norma Jacobs; sister in law Helen Spencer Harper; sixteen grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 7 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Wilson officiating and Rev. Mike Jarvis assisting and Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2 PM at the Sutton Freewill Baptist Church in Pocahontas, Arkansas with Rev. Alan Wilkerson officiating with Mark Wilkerson assisting. Serving as pallbearers were Tommy Reed, Jr., Larry Higginbotham, Brian Wigger, Brad Moore, Shawn Griffin, Mike Pallardy, Doug Thielemier, Charles Clinton and Dannis Haley.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Sutton Cemetery, Pocahontas, Arkansas. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
