Samuel Skaggs

Samuel David Skaggs of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on May 19, 2013 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached the age of seventy years, seven months and one day. He was born on October 18, 1942 in Cadet, Missouri a son to the late William Skaggs and Sarah (Summers) Skaggs.

In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Lou Skaggs, Alma Drennen; two granddaughters Lori Kley and Abbey Skaggs.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Rosie Skaggs of Mineral Point; there sons David Skaggs and wife Joannie of Mineral Point, Robert Skaggs and wife Marie of Mineral Point, Michael Skaggs and wife Crystal of Mineral Point; one brother Donald Wayne Skaggs of Mineral Point; four sisters Florence "Flossie" Cain and husband Daniel of Mineral Point, Iva Kemper of Mineral Point, Nancy Hastings and husband Roger of Old Mines, Loretta DeClue and husband Dale of Old Mines; eleven grandchildren Robert (Christina) Skaggs, Jeffrey (Anna) Skaggs, Justin Parrish, Stanley Skaggs, Rose Skaggs, Mikey Kley, Victoria Kley, David "Bubba" Skaggs, Jr, Keela Skaggs, Sabrina Skaggs; eight great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Don Strauser officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Skaggs, Jr., Dylan Skaggs, Raymond Cain, Bill Skaggs, William Dobbs, Marty Drennen, David Skaggs, Jr. and Dalton Cain.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
