Sally Ann Portell Coleman of Cadet, Missouri, departed this life on January 11, 2008 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of 58 years, 1 month and 8 days. She was born on December 3, 1949 at Cadet, Missouri, a daughter of the late Albert John Portell and Sarah ?Dolly? Carter Portell.
She was a member of the Breton Creek Baptist Church and loved sharing time with her church family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her own family, especially her grandchildren. Sally loved to play jokes on her family and friends, she also loved to hunt mushroom in the springtime of the year and ride motorcycles with her husband.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charolette Mackley; an infant brother; four half brothers, Edgar Portell, Martin ? Tuney ? Portell, Floyd Portell and George Portell.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband, Jack Coleman, Sr. of Cadet; her daughter, Tammy Dean and husband Rodney of Mineral Point; her son, Jack Coleman Jr. and wife Carmen of Mineral Point; a sister, Mary Lou Mercer and husband Dale of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Taylor, Amber, Chessa, Kyler and Shawnie; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Bryce Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Mercer, Steven Saunders, John ?Bud? Zetter, Jr., Danny Mackley, Richard Mackley and Steve Sansoucie.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
