Ruth Thompson

Ruth Vada Thompson of Potosi, Missouri was born on May 4, 1925 in Stoney Point, Missouri a daughter to the late Winford W. Mosier and the late Frances J. (DeMier) Mosier. On August 30, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to Russell Thompson. Ruth went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached the age of ninety-one years, ten months and fourteen days.

Ruth will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her brother: Lessel Mosier and wife Carol of Potosi; two nieces: Jana Portell and husband Lynn of Potosi; Julie Krause and husband Mark of Farmington; nephew, Terry Mosier and wife Ruby of Mineral Point; two great nieces: Lyndsey Midgett and husband Logan; Kelsey Krause; four great nephews: Kael Krause; Terry Wayne Mosier Jr.; Christopher Mosier and Mike Mosier.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell Thompson; brother, Chester Mosier; sister, Juanita Forshee and nephew, Chester Verlin Mosier.

She and Russell were members of Grassy Hollow Baptist Church and later she was a member of Springtown Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spent a lot of time studying her bible and listening to Gospel music. She worked for Brown Shoe Company for 44 years and later for the Christian Bookstore and Food Pantry.

Visitation was held Monday, March 20, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 9:30-11 a.m.

A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Honoring Ruth by serving as pallbearers were Lynn Portell, Mark Krause, Kael Krause, Mike Mosier, Terry Mosier and Randy Walton.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Germania Cemetery, Terre Du Lac. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements for Ruth during this time of remembrance.
