Ruth Florence Stewart

Ruth Florence Stewart, of Potosi, Missouri, born on March 25, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Ruth was known for her kindness, caring nature, and her ability to connect with everyone she met. She truly never met a stranger, often engaging warmly with new acquaintances and cherishing the friendships.

Throughout her life, Ruth enjoyed various activities that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was a regular at the Sayers Senior Center in Potosi, where she could be found playing cards and bingo. Ruth often enjoyed reading a good book. Ruth's love extended to the furry companions she cherished throughout her life; her dogs were an integral part of her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Thierjung and Helen Else (Fuchs) Thierjung; her loving husband, Gilbert Stewart; and her siblings: Gary Thierjung, Kenneth Thierjung, Marlene McGloughlin, Evelyn VanSant, and Nancy Warmbrodt.

She is survived by her two brothers, Sidney Thierjung and Nelson Thierjung (wife, Starr), along with special family members and dear friends from the Sayers Senior Center who profoundly feel her loss. Ruth's legacy of warmth and love will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her.

There will be no formal services for Ruth. DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have cared for Ruth's arrangements.
