Ruth Ann Montileone

June 29, 1944 — November 5, 2024

Ruth Ann Montileone, a beacon of light and love, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis at the age of 80. Born on June 29, 1944, in St. Louis, she was a nurturing spirit who carried the warmth of her heart into every corner of her life.

Ruth, often referred to as "a caring, kindhearted, and generous," embraced life with an unmatched fervor. She was loved not just for her vibrant personality but for the many ways she touched the lives of those around her. With a servant's heart, Ruth devoted herself wholeheartedly to her faith in Jesus, as a cherished member of the Caledonia Methodist Church. Here, she became deeply involved, lending her time and passion to countless activities including the annual chicken and dumplings dinner, church auctions, and bake sales. Her presence within the Methodist Women’s Club spoke volumes of her commitment to her community and her unwavering belief in service to others.

Beyond her contributions to her church, Ruth found joy in simpler leisure activities. She loved playing a good game of Dominos, dining out, and enjoying the company of friends. Her laughter and gracious demeanor made every gathering memorable.

For the last five years, Ruth also brought joy to her work at the Mercantile Candy Store in Caledonia, where she delighted customers by bagging up delicious treats that sweetened their days.

Ruth’s legacy is interwoven with the love of her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Montileone; three children: Laura (Jeff) Lindsey, Johnny Judd, and Richard (Jennifer) Judd; eight grandchildren: Sarah, Kelly, Jeffrey, Laura Lynn, Alyssa, Rachel, Shelby, and Jessica, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Ruth also leaves behind her great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Cindy Manlove, along with her cherished church family and community friends, will also remember her with love and fondness.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving parents, Louis and Emma Manlove, and her brother, Ernest "Sonny" Manlove.

One of her proudest accomplishments was managing the Bellview Food Pantry alongside Joe for over two decades, illustrated her unrelenting commitment to helping those in need and highlighted her profound desire to foster community spirit.

Ruth Ann Montileone will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of many. A time of visitation for Ruth will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Burial will follow at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
