Ruth Haworth

October 23, 1925 — December 17, 2005

Ruth Maxine Haworth of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on December 17, 2005 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, having reached the age of 80 years 1 month and 25 days. She was born on October 23, 1925 at Shipman, Illinois, a daughter of the late Orval Shultz and Zona (Archer) Shultz.

She was united in marriage to Floyd Raymond Haworth on September 5, 1943 and this union was blessed with a daughter and two sons. Mr. Haworth preceded her in death on August 23, 1994. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage together. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, James Shultz; sisters, Pauline Scott and Thelma Bartels; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Scott and Louis Bartels; and two sisters-in-law, Roberta Shultz and Rosalie Haworth.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her sons, Charles Robert Haworth and wife Fern of Potosi, and Jim Haworth and wife Lois of Potosi; her daughter Peggy Calvin and her husband Kenneth of Cottage Hills, IL, four grandchildren, Brian Robinson, Angie Knaup and husband Andrew, Bobby Haworth and wife Linda, and Meridee Haworth; eight great grandchildren, Andrea Knaup, Anthony Knaup, Ethan Haworth, Emily Sue Haworth, Brian Robinson, Ashley Robinson, Amber Robinson, and Shane Robinson; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Leonard Compton Officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Haworth, Lance DeClue, Earl Province, Butch Wilkinson, Brian Robinson and Tom Schultz.
Interment and final prayers were held in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
