Ruth Dean of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on January 23, 2008 at her residence in Cadet, having reached the age of sixty nine years and six months. She was born on July 23, 1938 in Cadet, Missouri, a daughter of the late Herman DeClue and Goldie Brim DeClue.
On December 18, 1961 she was united in marriage to Stephen J. Dean and they shared over thirty-three years of marriage together. Mr. Dean passed away on February 17, 1995. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Mom loved family and loved family get-togethers, family bar-b-ques and family reunions. She loved fixing big dinners for her children. Mom also loved to crochet. She had made many beautiful blankets, dolls, scarves and other things. She shared lots of them with her family. Mom also was a huge Cardinal Baseball Fan. She collected a lot of Cardinal memorabilia. She and her brother Everett used to swap stories of the Cardinal games. She never missed one of them on TV. She even had her Dr. bringing her Cardinal stuff from the games. He knew how much she loved them. She was loved by her children and family and had many friends. She will be missed very, very, much.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include a step son, Gary Dean and wife Glenda of Mineral Point, four sons, Lindell DeClue and wife Tina of Cadet, Jeffrey Dean of Cadet, Rodney Dean and wife Tamny of Mineral Point, Shane Dean of Cadet; a step daughter, Janice Gamble of Potosi, two daughters, Becky Eckhoff and husband Mike of Mineral Point, Tiny Dean of Potosi; a brother, Everett DeClue and wife Virginia of Bonne Terre; a sister Bessie Nettles and husband Vernon of Potosi; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Rick Wade and Rev. Keith King officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Scot Eckhoff, Pete Pruitt, Eddie Pruitt, Derek DeClue, Lindell DeClue, Garrett Griggs and Jeff Dean.
Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi, Missouri.
