Ruth Ann Breakfield went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of seventy years, seven months, and three days. Ruth was born on March 15, 1946, in Ironton, Missouri, a daughter to the late Roy Hochstatter and the late Clara (Tullock) Hochstatter.

On September 30, 1967, Ruth was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Virgil Breakfield, and together they shared forty nine years.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jason Breakfield of Potosi; daughter, Christina Daugherty and husband Greg of Cadet; brother, Larry Hochstatter and wife Phyllis of Potosi; sister, Doris Eye and husband Boyd of Potosi; grandchildren: Anthony Breakfield and Mallory Daugherty; also surviving are a host of dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death to her beloved husband, Virgil Breakfield; sister, Pamela Britton; and sister-in-law, Barbara Hochstatter.

Ruth was raised by very devoted Christians who taught her strong family values and work ethics. She went to nursing school at St. Louis City Hospital then married Virgil shortly after he returned from Vietnam. She worked twenty nine years at the Washington County Memorial Hospital where she helped deliver many babies. Many people have said that she was the best or most compassionates nurse to ever work there.

Ruth enjoyed many things throughout her life. She loved her family with all of her heart. She also enjoyed attending and helping at church, yard sales, scrapbooking and crafts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her but most of all by her family. She is smiling in heaven with her parents, Virgil, Pam and Barb.
