Ruth Bell

Ruth Ann Bell of Potosi, Missouri, departed this life on April 7, 2007 at St. Anthony?s Medical Center, St. Louis, after having reached the age of 76 years, 11 months and 22 days. She was born at Festus, Missouri on April 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Fred Detzel and Anna (Wertz) Detzel.

On July 7, 1951, Ruth was united in marriage to James Bell at St. Louis, Missouri. Three sons were born to that union. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband James Bell of Potosi; three sons Richard Lee Bell of Potosi, Jeffery Bell and wife Kathleen of Columbia IL, Russell Bell of Waterloo, IL; a sister Dorothy LaPlant of St. Louis; a brother Russell Detzel of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Britton Chapel in Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were John Barr, Malcome King, Ryan Bell, Greg Bell, Michael Bell and Rob Coonrod.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
