Ruby Bernice Crocker of Caledonia, Missouri, was born on June 18, 1927 at Goodwater, Missouri, a daughter of the late Albert and Essie (Hill) Brooks. Ruby departed this life on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Sullivan, Missouri, having reached the age of ninety-three years, five months and twenty-one days.
In addition to her father and mother, Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harmon Crocker; dear son, David Crocker; four brothers: Ralph, Levi, Claude, and Herman Brooks; and one sister, Elsie Brooks.
Ruby is survived by her three daughters: Cheryl Vavak and husband Jay, Kathy Wadle and husband Ronald, and Tammy Crocker; three granddaughters: Lisa Childers, Melissa Allen and husband Tim, and Dawn Dworaczyk and husband James; six great-grandchildren: Brandon Childers, Kyle Brown, Anna Marie and Jarod Allen, Abigail and Dylan Dworaczyk; and one brother, Sam Brooks. Ruby is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other dear friends.
Ruby was a very talented person. She wrote poetry and made beautiful oil paintings along with many other crafts. Ruby loved working in her yard and taking care of her fish pond of which she constructed her self. She was definitely a rock to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her all who knew and loved her.
A private graveside service will be held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation | P.O. Box 96280 | Washington, DC 20077.
