Ruby Jessie Cain of House Springs, Missouri departed this life on January 18, 2008 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of seventy years and twenty-three days. She was born on December 26, 1937 at Mineral Point, Missouri, a daughter of the late Robert Price and Sarah (Cain) Price.
On December 8, 1955, she was united in marriage to Virgil Cain at Mineral Point, Missouri and they shared over fifty-two years of marriage together. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother; a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Dale Cain; her foster parents Charles and Liddie Lawson; brothers, Edmond Price, Roland Price, Manuel Lawson, Marvin Lawson and Vertrice Lawson; foster parents, Liddie and Charles Lawson; sisters, Beulah Smith, Flossie Harrington and Beatrice Corry.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil Cain of House Springs.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri, with Pastor Kris Taylor officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Bryan Warren, Eric Warren, Mickey Lashley, Josh Cantrell, Jamie Cain and Dennis Farmer.
Interment and final prayers were held at Hopewell Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
