Ruby Allen

January 20, 1939 — February 28, 2008

Ruby Ellen Allen of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on February 28, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of sixty nine years, one month and eight days. She was born on January 20, 1939 at Potosi, Missouri, a daughter of the late Hadley Evans and Ellen (Price) Evans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Evans, Phillip Evans, James Evans; and her father-in-law, Russell Allen.

She was united in marriage to Wendell Allen on November 25, 1959 at Shirley, Missouri. They shared over forty-eight years of marriage together. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother; a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was a member of the Mission Ridge Baptist Church. She was a doll collector and enjoyed camping with family. She liked going to yard sales, reading books and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband, Wendell Allen of Potosi; a son, Dennis Allen and wife, Regina of Potosi; two daughters, Kimberly Alice Wiggins of Potosi, Beverly Sue Bowen of Potosi; four brothers, Charles Evans of Potosi, Claude Evans and wife, Bea of Mineral Point, David Evans and wife, Kathy of Potosi, Hadley Steven Evans; three sisters, Leona Missey and husband, Charles of Potosi, Shirley Boyer and husband, Jimmy of Cadet, Betty Palmer and husband, Ron of Cuba; mother-in-law, Evelyn Allen of Potosi; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Sharon Allen of Potosi; four grandchildren, Carrie Wade of Potosi, Nissa Compton and husband, Kyle of Potosi, Chris Bowen of Linn, Shayla Bowen of Potosi; two great grandchildren, Brandilyn Compton and Cortnie Wade; many nieces; many nephews; cousins and many other relatives.

Visitation 5 to 8 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.Funeral service Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating and Rev. Melvin Reed assisting.

Interment and final prayers will be held at High Point Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
