Roy Nixon

Roy Lee Nixon of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on November 21, 2011 at his residence having reached the age of seventy six years, one month and fourteen days. He was born on October 7, 1935 at Hopewell, Missouri a son to the late Percy Ray Nixon and Gladys Mae (Bone) Nixon.

On November 17, 1956, Roy was united in marriage to Carolyn Ames and they shared fifty five years together.

Roy was a wonderful man. He loved his family very much and cherished the time he shared with them. Roy also loved going to Hardees no matter what the case just to find out the daily gossip. He loved horse shoe pitching and couldn't be beat. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting, working in his yard, and most of all putting up Christmas lights.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two sisters Marie Walls, Nina Lou Nixon; brother Junior Ray Nixon and a brother in law Tommy Eye.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Carolyn Nixon of Mineral Point; two sons Terry (Linda) Nixon of Mineral Point; Roy (Becca) Nixon, Jr. of Mineral Point; daughter Robin (Fred) Fisher of Bismarck; sister Carol Eye of Potosi; four grandchildren Samantha Woods, Brock Fisher, Lance Fisher, John Nixon; five great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2 PM at DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Roy Lee Nixon Jr., Terry Nixon, Fred Nixon, Lance Fisher, Doyle Brown and Mark Ames.

Interment and final prayers were held at Hopewell Cemetery.
All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
