Rosemary Elva Lee, born on November 15, 1948, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 76. A dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend, she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her family.
Rosemary had a fulfilling career, working for Gilster-Mary Lee Corporation for approximately 19 years until her retirement. Her commitment to her work was only second to her devotion to her family. She was known for the special times she spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations. Rosemary enjoyed putting on Easter egg hunts for her grand-babies and never failed to celebrate birthdays, always making each on feel very special. In addition, Rosemary gained a reputation for her famous apple butter.
In addition to her family, Rosemary enjoyed watching soap operas, particularly "The Young and the Restless,". Rosemary found joy in tending to her flowers. Rosemary wasn't one to sit inside. She loved being outdoors, enjoying the beauty of God's creation.
Rosemary is survived by her three children: Tammy Jarvis (Len), Frank Lee, and Tim Lee; as well as her four grandchildren: Britney (Kevin) Miner, Jennifer (Josh) Revelle, Megan (Mikie) Kley II, and Dawn Kubicek. She took immense pride in her family, including nine great-grandchildren: Hannah, Karlee, Skyler, Harlee, Mia, Michael, Garrett, Mason, Audrey, Brandon, and Chandra, along with four great-great-grandchildren: Noah, Caden, Rowan, and Elsie. Rosemary is also remembered by her two siblings: Barb Winchester and Kenny Griffard (Linda Long), and leaves behind nieces, nephews, and an extended family that will miss her dearly.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph F. Griffard and Erma E. (McClure) Griffard, and five siblings: Harold Griffard, Ruth Ann Doyle, Bonnie Litterest, Frances "Frannie" Griffard, and Joseph Griffard. Her family also remembers her brothers-in-law: Don Winchester, Jim Doyle, Lloyd "Sonny" Litterest; sisters-in-law: Kathy Griffard and Shirley Griffard-Webb; and a special family member, Linda Holton, who all hold a place in their hearts for her.
A visitation for Rosemary will be held at DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi, on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Saturday, January 25, from 9:00 AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 AM. During this time, friends and family will come together to celebrate the remarkable life of Rosemary, honoring her legacy of love and remembrance. Interment and final prayers will follow at Cove Cemetery in Ironton, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
