Roscoe Vincent Cain of Dittmer, Missouri, formerly of Cadet, departed this life on January 21, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of eighty one years, two months and eighteen days. He was born at Blackwell, Missouri on November 3, 1926, a son of the late Thomas Cain and Catherine (Courtway) Cain.
He was united in marriage on December 22, 1948 to Ruby (Pruitt) Cain at Cadet, Missouri and they shared fifty-three years of marriage together. Ruby preceded him in death on February 1, 2002. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, and wife, Roscoe was preceded in death by two sons, Vincent Cain and Eddie Cain; a daughter, Jackie Patrick; a grandson, Nicky Bettencourt; four brothers, Phil Cain, Marvin Cain, Amos Cain, Thomas Cain; sister Helen Snowdell; granddaughter Nicole Patrick and son in-law Larry Lawson.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his children, Brian Cain of Cadet, Sharon Lawson of Bloomfield, Lois Allen and husband Dennis of Dittmer, Tammye Dailly and husband Gordon of Arnold; two sisters, Catherine Revelle of Potosi, Melba Burnia of California; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 10 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri, with Rev. Don Strauser officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Wills, Robbie Pennebaker, Adam Pennebaker, Sam Patrick II, Randy Farris and Brandon Farris. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Harris, Josh Wills and Lester Pinson.
Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
