Rosalie L. Halbert of Desloge, Missouri, formerly of Potosi, departed this life on November 3, 2007, having reached the age of eighty-five years, four months and twenty-nine days. She was born on June 5, 1922, at Caledonia, Missouri, a daughter of the late George Grenia and Grace Hull Grenia.
She was united in marriage to Howard C. ?Buck? Halbert on November 4, 1939 at Potosi, Missouri. Mr. Halbert preceded her in death on March 6, 1989. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gale Grenia; three sisters, Edna Pettit, Aline Campbell and Gloria Mae Grenia; two great grandchildren, Jessica Halbert and Blake Halbert.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her children, Virginia Montgomery and husband Jack of Caledonia, Robert Halbert and wife Barbara of Potosi, Harold Halbert and wife Vivian of Potosi, Milford Halbert and wife Imogene of Caledonia, James Halbert of Potosi, Billy Halbert and wife Caroline of Irondale; a sister, Hazel Pierce of Crestwood; a brother, Ed Grenia of Colorado; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Shawn Halbert, Travis Halbert, Brian Halbert, Gary Halbert, Scott Halbert and Mark Montgomery.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
