Rosa Jane Tyler, also lovingly known to family and friends as “Rose”, of Potosi, was born on December 15, 1947 in Potosi, Missouri, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Goldie (Lamar) Benson. Rose passed away on November 13, 2023, having reached the age of 75.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include husband of 57 years, Walter Tyler; children: Veronica Henry, Gary Tyler, and Tracy Sisco; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings: Olan Benson, Ervin Benson (wife, Claire), Lonnie Benson, Charles Benson (wife, Sandy), and Lee Benson (wife, Tracy). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her son, Darrin Tyler; siblings: Verlin Benson, Virginia Boyer, Gene Benson, Billy Benson, Infant Tiny Benson, and infant twins.
Rose was dynamite in a small package. She had a big personality—she was funny, but also a prankster. She loved doing present wars—wrapping them in duct tape and in larger boxes where it was difficult to open. On the flip side, she loved being a caregiver to family members, being the mother hen of them all—she was big hearted. She used to enjoy knitting, crocheting, and family camping trips.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Service at 1 p.m, held at DeClue Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Posey will officiate her service.
DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served the family of Mrs. Rose Tyler.
