Ronald Wayne Pierce of Caledonia, Missouri, was born on June 17, 1946 in Ironton, Missouri, a son of the late Lewis J. Pierce and the late Mildred (Buckley) Pierce. Ronald went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 28, 2016 having reached the age of seventy years, four months and eleven days.
On June 7, 1969, Ronald was united in marriage to Roberta Ferrell and they shared forty seven years together.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Roberta Pierce of Caledonia; two sons Jim Pierce and wife Christy of Farmington and Scott Pierce and wife Brandi of Caledonia; six grandchildren Jacob, Adam, Will, Peyton, Elizabeth and Benjamin.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved son, Matthew Pierce, an infant brother Edward Pierce, father-in-law and mother-in-law Chris and Mary Ferrell and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Carolyn Byers.
Ronald served in the United Sates Army from June 1970 until December 1972. He served on boards, held offices and received many rewards, never expecting accolades or attention because he felt his greatest accomplishments were his three sons. His only hobbies were wandering the fields of the farm and studying his bible. His unwavering faith and devotion to his church, his family and his friends. His wisdom and integrity were the trademarks of his life…The definition of a good man.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday evening. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Funeral Service will be conducted Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Gibson officiating assisted by Rev. Jim Hoffman.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery where Ronald will receive full military honors by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996 consisting of flag folding and presentation, gun salute and TAPS, Caledonia, Missouri.
